Trip Computer

Im curious to know if it is possible to retrofit or install the trip computer found on the CS models. Im going to get my 85 4000S Quattro(who knows when), and Im wanting to put it in there, but I didnt know if it was possible. If it is, what would have to be done electrically? Any info is appreciated!

I have heard that it is kind of a pain since the wiring harness would have to be run. Good luck though.

I've done it, the necessary wiring harness is already in your car, you need to install the trip computer dash, plug in a couple of connectors and install the ECU out of a car with the trip computer. It took less than 2 hours.

I've got a dash coming to me from a 4kq with a trip computer along with the switch. Do I actually need the expensive ECU unit from a 4kq that had the trip computer?

Does anybody know the part # for the ECU that works with the trip computer? I may already have it as I replaced my ECU a few years ago but need to be sure.
