Wierd?!?!

k my cars battery meter is getting really low and when i hit the gas too rev the motor it goes up and then when it sits for a bit it goes back down!??!?!! is this a alternator or a batery or what?!?! any help is apreciated thx

Sounds like a battery problem... also could be a voltmeter problem

It's probably the alternator diode gone bad.

If that's the case, it's easier to replace the whole unit, since the diode is inside the case, and alternators aren't much fun to take apart. Also, pull the voltage regulator out and check the brushes, if they're worn too badly they could cause that.

Easy fix

Voltage regulator. Undo the 2 bolts on the alternator and simply pull it out. The brushes are probably worn down. I have no idea how much these cost though...
