Just be careful, I have only been burned
by 2 people on ebay and both were in Germany.
They have different laws there regarding
commitment. Shipping prices and processing
fees can also be wild. Not trying to put
you off just raising a flag.

It seems like scamming both ways is worse there, but as long as you buy from a seller with a high number of transactions and a close to 100% rating, you should be OK. While I haven't gotten totally burned, I have received junk on a few occasions. It really stings when you pay $75 to ship over a $150 pair of broken, mismatched and incomplete Euro lights.
FWIW, I have been told by a German friend that people from the US have gotten a bad reputation for not following through on transactions when they find out what shipping will cost. So, BEFORE you bid, find out if the seller is will ship to the US and what shipping will cost. What seems like a deal may not be so good once it gets here.

I've never once had an issue with a german seller. (knock on wood)
I directly get a quote on shipping and then wire them money to their bank. Most of the time, the seller happily ships to America even when they said they won't as long as the process is painless for them. A few times shipping has been a tad high, but nothing to blow the deal over.
