T-Belt cover won't clear bodywork
Is there a trick to getting the cover off the car and on the workbench?

You sort of have to pay attention to what the bottom end is catching on (down by the waterpump), at the same time as you watch what the top end is hanging on.
You have to get the bottom clear enough of the water pump, to let the top end slide 'up' past the timing sprockt, rather the 'out' towards the front of the car to get past the timing sprocket.
You may need a bit more force to get it out the top than you think. I scraped the paint off my freshly painted cover getting in in and out again..

OK Frank - No time to start stressing anything.
I'll start putting it back together and focus on getting to UPG.
The only thing that looked a bit suspicious was the metalic look and roughness on the no-tooth side of the belt. I think I'll replace the t-belt within 2 years.

Evryone IS bringing their full complement of tools, aren't they? :-)
As long as the back of the belt isn't 'breaking up', and the the teeth look good, you should have at least a few weeks of service left.
THe back of the belt tends to get a bit shiny, as it is the side that touches the idler roller. I'm not so sure of the metallic sheen though..
At least the back of the belt doesn't have a pile of cracks in it (as my 4kq did, when I looked at it when I first got it..!)
