How to deal with timing belt and water pump?
Mine is audi 90, 1988. I need to replace the water pump. To be honest, I have no experience dealing with these stuff. So, here comes my stupid questions:
#1. Which one is the cranshaft pulley? I have marked all my understandings of these stuff in the following pictures. Am I correct?

This is from the front bump. I guess I have to remove that.

#2. My manual says using a socket on the crankshaft pulley bolt to turn the engine so that the piston in No 1 cylinder is at TDC on its compression stroke. Is this one on the lower cover the TDC mark? Actually, I can see the pointer in side the lower cover when light a beam into it. But the cover is just that hard to remove. Will there be a mark on the pulley beside the lower cover. I couldn't see that from where I am looking at now.

So, how to turn the crankshaft? It seems that this pulley bolt is quite large (at least 30mm). Do I need some special tools?

#3. Should I remove the camshaft sprocket, when loosen the timing belt and withdraw water pump? I also heard that the camshaft mark and crankshaft mark should be aligned at the same time. So, do I need to turn the camshaft and when?
It will be really helpful if somebody can give a full procedure.

Don't take anything apart until you're sure you know how to put it back together.
This writeup is 20V-specific, but is no different from your 10V.
Your labels are all right except I can't confirm that TDC mark, never looked at one on a 10V.

timing belt how-to.
