MAF issues anyone?

I just came across my "MAF ordeal" file from my 1999 GTI. . . .$565 repair that took months to sort out with VOA. Initially they denied warranty work but after several months there was a warranty campaign.

I've learned A4s through 2001 have had similar issues. Does anyone know if B6s are known to have MAF problems?

Anyone had to replace their MAF? Warranty or out of your own pocket???

Had a 2000 Jetta (manuf summer 1999) that had it's MAF go out also. Took over a year of weird crap going on before it was identified and replaced uinder warranty.

PIA.

So far, not so on my A4 (although I thinking I got tranny problems now on my Tipped Quattro)

The problem is with 2000-2001, for most models and engines. Audi extended the warranty on those for 7yr/70k. Have not seen any probems with the B6 cars.
