Dealers calling back tiptronic transmission for reprogramming?
well, i was reading a past post from about march, and this guy said he got a message from the dealer, asking him to bring the car in b/c there is a recall type thing where they have to reprogram the tiptronic trans, and that its nothing big, but it may prevent future problems....
anyone hear of this?

is this something i need to be worried about if i cant get the re-programming done soon?
if i cant get it done soon, do you think this could shorten the life-span of my transmission?
of course i have tiptronic, but im sure the problem is about the same.

when I last took my car in they did a TCM recall procedure
The Tech told me it was something to do with the Auto Trans and the catalytic converter.
Though I have to say after they did the reprogramming my car seems to have increased hard shifts down, though on a plus side its holding its revs for longer before upshifting. Its almost as if the car when in "D" is in what i used to call "S" mode. And "S" Mode is even more pronounced.
