Dealer oil for scheduled service oil changes
Since Audi has now said that synthetic oil must be used for the 1.8T engine, have the dealers switched to using synthetic during the 10k scheduled visits? Or will they still use dino unless you explicitly request it?
As an aside, if I bring my car in for it's 50k mile oil change (at 49,900mi) is that free? (ie- is it 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50k service included, or just 10, 20, 30, and 40k)

What about if you get a new engine installed at 48k?? Shud I insist that they cover my oil changes 2
Plus they told me that they put regular oil in & not the synthetic which I only use. I'm trying to make sure that Audi hooks me up because this is my second engine replacement in consecutive a4s!!

My dealer has been using synthetic long before the notice
I have only done one oil change so far and it should be free. If your dealer charges you tell them to go to hell. Go to another dealer. Free service for 4 years is free service. The design requires synthetic, it is not really a choice to use dino or synthetic. Not sure about the intervals for a 2002
