Few Problems
I have several small issues with my '02 1.8T and was wondering of some other experiences with similar problems.
1. Left front speaker cuts in and out
occasionaly. It has not done it in a while.
I searched the forum, but could not get a
conclusive answer as to what has been a solution
for most.
2. Driver's window switch paint is peeling off. I
am not sure if it is worth having these guys
take the panel down for that. As bad as they
are in Kansas City,I am not sure if they can
put it back together without damaging something
It is the only Audi dealer in town.
3. Cold start produces a little rattle sound at
idle, coming from under the valve cover. I am
suspecting valve lifter noise. From day one she
was getting oil changes every 5000mi, with oil
in accordance with the TSB. I am using Mobil 1
0W-40.
So, just wondering if anybody else had similar symptoms and what the solutions were.

solution for #1
there was a service bulletin issued to Audi a while back re: bad speaker wiring (harnesses, I believe). Mine did the same thing as you described and they replaced all the harnesses under warranty.

easy solution to #1
My speaker did the exact same thing. I got so annoyed at it that I punched it really hard a few times and it has worked fine ever since. It's a well known problem though and this is obviously not the most professional solution, but it works

Have them fix it. I have had them replace all 4 door window switches. Good as new.
There is a lot of trim where the rubber covering has chipped away. I've never had an issue with them replacing any of it in my car. My replaced items list:
all 4 window switches, ESP Button, passenger side floor vent, center console, CD player, driver seat height adjustment handle.
