Stupid 9 News and their E-recycling event...
9 News was having a free electronics recycling drop off today from 7 am to Noon. One of the locations was fairly close to where I needed to go anyway this morning, so I figured it
Load up the car with all sorts of crap, including a big, heavy 21" CRT monitor. Go to their website around 10 am to double check the address and it says "All E-recycling sites are full and currently closed."
Now that Kathy Sabin is old, this the last straw for me and their news team.

the stuff I can tell you people about what goes on behind the scenes at these places...........
even the one's that BASAL Action Network lists as "E-Stewards".
One of the places listed is one we do loads for on a daily basis. 85% of their yard workers, forklift drivers, sorters, machine operators are illegals. They have no valid US ID, it's all forged, they speak little to no english. They regularly tear up containers and semi's that come in to load, personally, I've watched them put holes in over 3 dozen containers.
ICE, when it was still INS raided the facility twice in '03 and shut them down.

Agreed, but I only had a 19" TV in the trunk. Arapahoe Deputies were turning people away.

Too bad, the TV is going to the curb now. Broken one that I couldn't morally dump on ARC. Otherwise working but old, or marginal, gear goes to them.
I guess what really pisses me off now is that I went late and only checked 9news.com for the address before leaving at 11AM and saw no mention of any closings.
