Ever get dent/windshield damage from a dump truck (rock)?

Ever get dent/windshield damage from a dump truck (rock)?
A rock from a truck dented my hood and scratched my windshield this morning. I called customer service and reported that the driver wouldn't pull over. They said if he didn't pull over it didnt happen.
Reported the plate# + info from the truck + call to State Farm. For my $250 deduct. they will repair everything under a 'comp claim'. which means it won't hurt my premium.
The good news is, finish line collision, my body shop who did my votex kit - is on their list. I'm sure I'll get the entire hood painted which is great. I'm dropping off the car tomorrow morning.
F'ing trucks though, I can't stand them.

I had the same thing happen in February...
I was on RT. 78 in NJ and an 18 wheeler in front of me kicked up a big rock which hit my windshield. Besides the fact that it left a decent size crack, it scared the **** out of me. I had the same thing happen. B/c the driver never pulled over, it never happened. And I'm still waiting to get it fixed.

Happened to me w/ my GTI on Rt 7 in Norwalk
The company insisted that since the truck didn't pull over I had no proof that the damage came from them. (duh). This, despite that they did not dispute that the truck number I gave them was in that location at the time I reported the damage.
Unfortunately, it turned into my word against their's.
It was "only" a chip in my windshield and since it was before the winter I never fixed it (thinking I'd get a lot more). I ended up using a glass-repair kit (with average results) and traded in the car when the summer came around.
