local b6 1.8t owners i need some help..

i am looking to see if anyone has a stock cat i can use to have my cars inspection done. it would be a huge help to me because as of now its looking like i may have to purchase one and audi is going to rape me on that. i am from syosset long island but will travel far. please let me know if anyone has one i can use for just a day. thanks in advanace

are you throwing codes?

even without cats, as long as your ECu says OK then all is good.

really? do you know this for fact? i am throwing a code because i have a faulty 02 sensor. i plan on replacing and when i do i dont think i should have a problem with anything else. the cat along wont get detected?

you have to clear the code and make sure the car is on a ready state before getting

it inspected. You cant go to the inspection station right after you clear the code. They'll tell you your car is not in ready state and will make you come back.

As for the physical cat detection, it depends on the station you go to... is the one you going to going to put your car on the lift and check? Some of the inspection places dont lift the car so it wont matter to them.

these guys arent going to check anything. they are just going to plug the car into the comptuer..

if the comptuer doesnt detect any codes i should be fine right?

make sure u drive the car for a little bit.. cuz right after you clear the code it goes to a state

where the inspection place knows u just cleared or tampered with the ecu.

You should be fine if the code dont come back... dont worry about your cat worry about the code first.
