WSCC Rally synopsis
Right at the start they put us on a dirt road. We figure a bunch of people might have missed the instruction because there was a sign to record on the right with the 'bear left' right there without much lighting and a slight dropoff to the dirt. We made it through OK.
By far this rally had the most signs to record, 57, of which me and my navigator got all of them. They put on up '=' in a construction zone in between a bunch of reflective cones and signs. Tough one to get. Others were parallel to the road so there were no headlights on them for reflection. Had to back up a few times.
The rally took us from Mt. Kisco through Ridgefield, Danbury, Redding, Wilton, Stamford and Pound Ridge primarily. For those of you that went on the August drive, several of those roads were used. Lots of crazy back roads and a larger percentage of dirt than usual.
We were car 11 and finished in 2:47 with an official rally time of around 2:52. So we were early even though we were keeping a very close eye on rally average speed of 24mph. I think the first leg we did at 26mph so that could amount to a few minutes.
Overall a great rally in my opinion and hopefully we will place high. We didnt see but two other rally cars on the road, which is also unusual, but several people did finish out of the 34 cars in the rally.
I did not see runknd at the finish, he's probably somewhere out near Bethel looking for the 'Rogers' or 'Weir' sign.
Next rally is March 31st 'Bunny Run'. Should be another great one. I may help organize it this time around, we'll see, its a long way off.
Those hilly sections were awesome my suspension as compressed then decompressed so much.
