1800rpm slip clutch launch technique starting on the 3rd light

Default I'd drop the hammer up the upswing around 3-3.5k. Wait for the 2nd yellow light to blink and then..

go. If you wait until the green light then you've already started too late. The key it to start the engagement when the 2nd yellow light it still lit, that way the car will actually move on the green light.

trust me. ;-) This is what happens when you get it right.

Seriously you would do a drop-clutch at ~3k. I'm affraid the tranny or the clutch would let me down

Default Well...

I've taken my car to the drags. And Allan can attest I went ape on both days and just ran the **** out of it. Way too many attempts to post. :-) Anyway, when we took apart the engine, I got a look at the clutch disc and there were NO hotspots. No wear issues. And the techs were actually giving me crap for being so kind to the clutch. huh?!

It seems that the clutch can handle it. I just wouldn't slip the hell out of it. Give it a few practice runs before you go to the drags. Just make sure that you cool the car down in between runs. You'll want the clutch to be "cool", as well as the intake temps for your engine. It would probably be best to bring some ice in a chest and use a bag that won't burn or melt and throw that bad boy on your intake manifold in between runs.

Default I'll try slip-clutch 1800rpm, quick-slip from 3-3.5 and drop clutch at 3-3.5k. Wich one you think

will be the fastest? Have you tried all of them?

Default Yes, I found that a combo of dropping and slipping at 3500 yielded the fastest times.

The easying into it at 1800 absolutely did not work for me.

I thought of removing my 10-15 stickers but they are good for ~10hp each so i'll keep them on! lol
