how to reset check engine light

my check engine light comes on every once in a while because i one of my spark plugs is not exactly in the cylinder right (i retapped the hole with a helacoil) so it misfires and triggers the computer to put the check light to come on. is there any way that i can just turn that off or do i have to pay my mechanic 50 bucks every time it comes on?

first off, have a mechanic look at it, that isnt right.... and no you need a vag-com to do it....

Also it could be more then you think.... even one of the eight cylanders mis-firing or not firing...

properly over time could cause problems for the engine.

On a B6? You should be under warranty. . if not, wrong forum. .
