Cause of my check engine light

Turns out to be a faulty coolant temperature sensor.

what code did you get??because...

they told me that same thing for code 2181 and I am working on my 7 th trip back to them to fix it.

I would appreciate any insight into what caused your problem.

Actually, I forgot to ask the dealer for the code. My car has about 3800 miles, and threw the CEL last night on my drive home from work. Called the dealer as I was driving, and they said that as long as the light is solid, it is OK to drive. Didn't feel terribly comfortable with that (and the fact that I had to wait a week for a service appt) so I dropped it at the dealer today. Hmmm. I hope this doesn't turn out to be serious. How long have you been chasing this one down?
