Have you guys been over to VWVortex lately? New Passat=Audi B7 A4.
The new Passat looks so much like the new B7 that it's stupid. They borrowed the styling headlights and tail lights. Drop the 4.2 V8 in it and S4 on the cheap. I can't believe they made it so close. What is the point of buying an Audi now? Good going VW.

The Passat B6 is based on the Golf V frame... which != Audi B6/B7 frame.
Golfs use traversely mounted engines. More over, Passat's won't have TorSen based AWD anymore. For traversly mounted engines, Audi/VW use the Haldex system. I believe it has a torque limitation that the 4.2 V8 exceeds.

As much as BMW has been criticized for latest designs.....
there are many styling cues (from BMW) on the new Passat, A4, A6 similar to BMW. VAG tones the changes and is much more pleasing to the eye. Their "presence" when up close is impressive.
