low end torque

Do you guys felt some low end torque loss after instaling resonated cat back exhaust? My friend with his M3 e46 did. Question of backpressure I think.

It has nothing to do with backpressure and everything to do with velocity. By installing a larger diameter exhaust system, your friend caused the speed of the exhaust gases to be reduced. This makes low end exhaust scavenging less effective, which causes low end torque to fall noticably. This may seem bad, but you should more than make up for it with the improved torque in the mid range and top end.

Not sure but i think the E46 is something like 262lb/ft.
