How do you adjust the height/distance of the stock muffler tips?

How do you adjust the height/distance of the stock muffler tips?

In other words, how do you change the height between the muffler tip and the valence?

You would have to bend the OEM hangars DOWN at...

the rear mufflers. With an aftermarket system like Milltek you can control height with muffler rotation and centering (like OEM). -Pete, Stratmosphere

How dificult is that to do, and what tools would you recommend?d

I had Audi adjust mine a few weeks ago and I still think that they are too low. I am familiar with the metal extension on the muffler that engages the rubber hanger. I presume that you would bend this extension?

A big freakin' hammer, but seriously...

I need to look more closely at the OEM system. Pretty beefy. Heat could help too. I think they are a "Y" and they may get wider if you pound them but that could do the trick too. Binding up the hangars is not what I would prefer (pinching them). -Pete

The stock hangers are rubber, so you would need to bend the metal extension on the muffler

****... that's not good.... one of my tips is lower than the other.... and I'm not sure why...

I got the car about two weeks ago... and there was some minor 'lot damage' to the bumper.... but putting things together, seems like it was a bit more... I'll have to get on my back tomorrow when i pick her up and see what's under her. Damnit... won't sleep tonight....

you could try loosening the back of the system from the dps, should be 4 17mm bolts

near the center resonator, and then try to move the system around a bit. that's probably what they did with Dr. GP's to fix his.

it's really a tilt more than anything as the tip that is higher will move lower as you lift the other one.

definitely easier with 2 people

loosen. level. hold. tighten bolts
