Default Good lease price for S-line?

I wanted to ask you guys how this lease deal sounds:
2006 A4 S-Line-Black
-Premium
-Tech
-Nav
-Audio
24 month 15k/yr lease w/$3500 down+$276 NYS DMV fee
payments would be $542.22/month. I would greatly appreciate anyone's input as this is my first car purchase on my own and am not sure if I could do any better.

Default Why put $3500 down?

I am assuming that you are talking about a 2.0T. Is it Quattro, Tiptronic or both? It would help if you list the MSRP.

I got a $36,360 S-Line (2.0T, 6-speed, FWD) with the Premium, Sunroof, Technology and metallic paint for $386/mo plus tax on a 24-mo lease but with 10K miles with $1,415 total drive-off. If I had opted for 15K miles, it would have been about $435/mo. Your car has nav and Bose/Sat radio package as extras, so your payment should be somewhat higher, but I don't like the $3500 down. You should try to just pay the acquistion fee, first month's payment and DMV/registration fees. So take a look at how much of the $3500 is cap reduction. You want that to be zero. Any cap reduction you pay only serves to lower the monthly payment. It's money out the window.

forgot about the other details, it is a 2.0t quattro 6 spd. MSRP is $41,435. The $3500 is what the dealer suggested to put down in order to get the payment to where it is, but I get what your saying as any extra money toward the lease in the down payment is essentially wasted once I turn the car in 2 years down the road

never ever ever talk about a car in regards to the payments...you will always lose.

My advice...make your downpayment as minimal as possible....that is, prepay the tax and first month and that's it. That way, in the event eh car is totalled, you will get your pro rate share of the tax back and no be out a bunch of $$.you never tell the dealer how you intend to pay for the car until you reach an acceptable price. Given the resources on this and other board, plus on the web, you can get a really good feel for a fair selling price and a rip off. Negotiate the price first...no matter how you finance the car..be it a loan from Audi, loan from your bank or credit union, a lease, or cash, someone has to buy that car from the dealer....this is why the sales price is critical.

good luck!

That being said,

Default it's not necessarily "money out the window"

that cap cost reduction is factored back into your payment so if you carry your lease to term, you will end up paying that $3500.

Basically, you decide, pay it now, or pay it over the lease term.

FYI - I got a 2005.5 Light silver/Ebony, quattro, manual trans, premium, cold weather - MSRP - 34,500. Out of pocket - 1st month and some minimal NYS DMV fees only (total less than 600.00 up front)- I transferred plates from my previous vehicle (may have saved some DMV money there - monthly payment on 36 month lease - 486.
