Default Engine hesitation starting out in the AM

So I know a lot of posts have been made here about engine hesitation at morning runs. My A4 2.0T 6-spd has about 8600 miles on it and as the weather has started to cool off a bit at night, I was seeing more and more of this hesitation every morning. I usually let the car run for about 45 sec-1min before starting out. Revving it a bit in 1st gear has marked hesitation atleast once or twice before it starts riding smoothly.
So I took it to service day before and they said they couldnt reproduce it. So I let it sit there all day (ambient was high in the day) and went drove it with the mechanic in the evening after it had been sitting for about 8 hrs - and ofcourse it ran fine. I insisted they check again, so I left it for another day and they called me this morning saying they did not notice any hesitation driving right away with a cold start.
Problem is, I 'know' it does it and so do a lot of people here. I have seen 1 post which was actually an FSI failure.
Has anyone else taken it to the dealership, reproduced the problem with the service shop and gotten it addressed?
If yes, please let me know what they did...
Thanks!

Mine is really bad too, it's actually stalled a few times backing out of the garage if I don't let it warm up for a full minute.

Here's one thing that I noticed: when I start it, if I leave it in P, it runs fine, not rough at all, as long as I don't put it in gear for a minute or two. It seems to only get rough when I put it in reverse. I am going to start backing into my garage and see if that changes anything.

Another thing is even if I let it warm up, once I put it in drive it will still hesitate a few times for the first 1/8th mile or so, then it runs like a top.

I brought it up at my 5K service and they said they couldn't reproduce it and would need several days to check it out. Seeing as how the loaner they gave me was a Chevy Cobalt -- faced with the prospect of driving that piece of crap for several days, all of a sudden the problem didn't seem too bad. It really made me angry that it came down to that, but as long as I let it warm up for a couple of minutes the problem is non-existant.

So "couldnt reproduce it" seems to be the standard response these guys have. And I am inclined to think, they just dont want to deal with it. Coz if it happens to most of us every single time, how would it not occur even once when they are testing it.
This isnt good, any idea guys on how to go about in getting dealerships to take this seriously...

Default Am I missing something?

It doesn't seem like 45 sec warmup is quite enough for any vehicle I've owned. Maybe try 2-3 minutes and see what happens. Your situation sounds pretty normal, as my car would do the same thing with that warmup.

i dont think these cars are supposed to drive like that, whether warmed up or cold..a hesitating/stalling engine I think is indication of something being wrong or a design issue.
I agree, ideally everyone *should* let it run until the revs settle down a bit, but its just unacceptable that not doing that should stall a 40K car.

Which do you prefer to hear more?
1. Sorry, We couldn't reproduce it...
2. Sorry, the computer did show a fault code.

Dear Service Manager:
Do you think I would take time out of my busy schedule just to sit in your waiting room. Did you have fun test driving my car???????

Why do you think I am making this sh*t up?
Sometimes my passenger side mirror does not go back up after driving for a couple of miles. And sometimes... I swear my keyless entry does not work ALL the time.

Sorry... Just frustrated. You guys hit a sore spot. I still love my 3.2Q A4!!!!

Explain your hesitation. A lot of people complain about the Audi drive by wire "thinking pause" in professional auto reviews. If your problem only happens for the first couple of minutes startup your car is probably fine. Try putting your car in the Sport mode, it lessens the "thinking pause".
For you information the new A6 w/ 3.2 had a reflash for the problem your complaining about. I don't know of one for the A4 w/3.2 though.

Hey! Have your told your dealer about your keyless entry problem? If you told them about this, they should have checked the part #'s on your keys. There is a tech bulletin for faulty keys that are sporadically inop for the new A4. If you have the bad part# you get new keys! Yeah!
