Anyone install aftermarket car alarm? I did...

and was wondering if anyone else has. I had a clifford alarm installed that has a starter immobilizer on it. dunno but i wasnt really satisfied with the alarm the car came with (no shock sensor), and figured it would be a breeze to hot wire it and take off. cool thing is i now have 2 alarms on the car (the other one can still be activated) so i have an ignition immob.(audi alarm) and the starter one that came with the clifford, as well as 2 seperate alarm horns

. think it was necessary?

If adding the additional alarm gives you peace of mind, that is all that really matters.

However, the stock alarm though not very loud IS very effective as far as it's anit-theft protection. It has a built in immobilizer. You can't just "hot wire" one of these cars. The proper resistance/signal must come between the starter lead and the ignition system - if an attempt to start the car is made without the orginal key, the immobilizer kicks in and you have to have AUDI disable it. I think your car would've been safe without the added alarm.
