I have a b6, warranty is almost up. Its paid off and KBB says my car is worth 19k. audiusa.com says $944 down which is acquisition fee and first months payment of 369.00(exluding tax, title, dmv etc u know the deal). Anyway its a 2 year lease of 369 a month. What do you guys think of my idea of trading in my car, putting like 2k down(with all the fees and tax) and then taking the rest of the money that my car is worth and putting it away in savings. (im 22 and have to start saving for my future). Does this make sense? will it work? I have never leased a car before so any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Keep in mind the $369 offer is on a car with very little in the way of options. If I remember right that deal is for a car with only Auto Trans and sunroof, the price jumps very quickly when adding options.

 

Also MAKE SURE ITS QUATTRO - some of these "great deals" are for the FWD model!

but, its for 10K miles a year, which is very little. I would seriously consider the mileage issue and that you will be looking for a car in two years (with nothing to show for it).

If you really want to save money, keep the B6

fwiw, I went in for that lease and came out with a 06 B7 A4 6MT, Quattro, Premium for 452 with 1200 down, 10K miles 24 months.

Only made sense for me because its leased through my business.

 

OK - first and foremost, the car audi is advertising now is nicely optioned, with the stuff they feel most people will order if they did not have the deal...hence, the deal

In any event, the bottom line is Audi is doing a 2 year program right now, so you can choose to option the car all you want, pick avant or non avant, and still get an appropriate deal.

Keep a couple things in mind:

1. sales tax is not included
2. have to take delivery by November 30

As for what the cars have, the advertised deal is includes quattro, tiptronic, premium, sunroof, and cold weather package. This is the 369 a month package. The dealer is there to move the car, so if they have a car on the lot that has more options than this, they likely will cut a deal, or not charge you at all. Example, my car (Avant) had the rear window shades and is Dolphin grey..both of which are chargeable items...I did not pay for either. My father just got an A4 Q for my mom as well...her car has HID's and headlight washers..again, dealer did not charge then for it (different dealer).

Anyway, here is how I decided to structure my deal (my father did his the same way). We chose to prepay the sales tax and first month...that's all. Total out of pocket was just under $1400. We both did the 24 month deal, I did 12k a year, he stuck with 10k (the car will not have close to 24k on it when it goes back in 2 years anyway). Mine ended up at 454 a month, his (sedan) is at around 418 or so.

Reason we chose to do it this way is in case the car is totalled.....since we have no downpayment and no bank fee, we can each get the pro rata sales tax back from the state.

Anyway, it's an awesome car, and the deal cannot be beat. I looked at the BMW's, as well as some other cars, and nothing is as strong of a deal as this right now
