it's available for order right now as we speak..

Savings vs. Tiptronic? ~$1,200?
I don't know why Audi won't let you build one on their website. Anyone know the difference in price between the MT and Tiptronic versions of the 3.2? I'm guessing $1,200 based on the differences in base price for the 2.0T.

I heard RUMOR from my dealer they may actually stop production on the 3.2 because it doesn't offer THAT much more performance.. at least not enough to warrant the $8,000 PLUS price difference!
So if their talking getting rid of the 3.2, I doubt an MT version is in the works.

Uh, the MT has been announced and iwantB7 has one on order already being assembled. So, I very much doubt that the MT isn't "in the works".
The price difference between comparably configured A4 2.0T and A4 3.2 automobiles, even MT vs. Tip, isn't anywhere near $8,000. Where did you get that price?
Unless Audi does something strange with pricing, the difference between a comparably equipped 2.0T and 3.2 should be about $3,500. Compare a 2.0T Q Tip Red w Leather + Sun + Prem + Wood to a 3.2 Q Tip Red w Leather (not premium) + Sun + Prem (incl Wood). Difference is exactly $3,500.
For people who don't want to chip, want more performance, and want a smoother engine, the 3.2 might very well be worth $3,500. Need to drive them both first.

I think more emotional than economic...
...but it depends on how many miles you put on the car. Gas mileage for the 3.2 is about 13% lower. For me, at about 7,500 miles per year, even with current gas prices and 100% city driving, the 3.2 will only cost about $15 per month more in gasoline to operate. Inconsequential.
