bose sound system
It's a good theory and great demo in their web site. But honestly, it doesn't work wonders. I open my window or sunroof and travel at different speeds and the audio quality is still blah.
The annoying thing I hear is the speed compensation volume which adjusts very obtrusively.
Bose is good for classical music and voice clarity. But it lacks in the low end. For a supposed customized system, this IMO is unacceptable.
The sad thing is that most vehicles use Bose, so I have no choice. I know I have a choice using after-market systems, but I want a clean OEM install sound system backed by the manufacturer. This means sadly having a Bose sound system in the MBenz and Audi. Now if only they offered a Harman Kardon/JBL package, then I would be willing to pay way more. Mark Levinson is another good option.
Here's to hoping that VW has good success with the Dynaudio gear [they're a large, and *very* high end speaker manufacturer in Denmark that is relatively unknown to many in the US.]. If the Dynaudio system is successful over at VW, there's probably a good chance that Audi might actually decide to start offering some descent Hi-Fi in their cars too.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
