More cars with similar looks to A4 B7 !!!
I was looking at the commercial of the new Passat Variant and it looks very identical to A4 Avant from the front! Now because VW owns Audi, does it mean that it can dilute the premium status received by Audi over the years by accomodating into VW models? It is justified?
let's see, now that would be the Honda Civic that has copied the A4's rear, and some car made in China that you would never ever want to get into an accident has copied the front end.
Regardless, I find all VWs looking too Japanese now and I'm not the only one that is complaining about this. VW has lost it's own uniqueness.
I don't think it detracts from the premium status, it's just part of the shift in styling in the auto industry.
They also no longer share the V6 engines because of the now transverse layout. They are able to make use of the 2.0t though, similar to the J/G.

I don't think the styling carrying across related brands hurts at all. And people 'copying' Audi only strengthens the direction the VAG group was taking styling. Overall it's good for the company.
Now for the owner that liked the distinct 'VAG' look, it kind of sucks...
