My guess is the fuel pump is on the fritz and will be replaced. I'll keep you all posted when I learn more.

It was a sad sight watching the car being taken away on a flatbed this morning!

Also, when driving the car last night I noticed that when accelerating there was very abrupt changes in the amount of power and how smooth it was. (like the engine wasn't getting enough fuel) I would compare it to the variation in power people have talked about when you go through 2500-3000 rpms but much more noticeable.<ul><li><a href="http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/P310B/012555">http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/P310B/012555</a</li></ul>

 

Faulty fuel pressure sensor, dealer replaced it in under an hour and all was well. Happened to me at 12k miles.

 

Thanks for your input, I hope it's similar in my case.

 

In all, the experience went well, I called Audi Roadside at 8:30--they picked up the car by 10 and the dealer had it finished by 4.

Now i need to somehow get myself to the dealer to pick it up...

Dealer will pick you up but this was so quick that they couldn't schedule me in for a little while.
