Folding o/s mirror issue

Hi all,
I have an '02 C5 A6. I tried the moving the mirror adjustment control on the centre console to the 6 o'clock position and both mirrors moved inwards. The next time I tried it a few months later, only the passenger mirror moved, the driver's side no longer is operable.

Any thoughts?

Does the left mirror adjust? I'd check the connections first.

Adjustments and all other functions for both work.

might require reset
once i had the same - next day everything was fine

one more thing - carwash
water might get inside and (what's your weather) spoil wiring or the motor

every autumn I use wd-40 to spray all around accu & wires to prevent possible currency leakage in wet weather otherwise the car does not start once in the morning.
