ECU swapping compatibility

I was thinking about buying an out of state ECU that's been chipped. My ECU number is 8N096018K and it's number is 8N096018T. The guy says his is off an 01 225 roadster, mine is an 01 225 coupe. Does anyone know if they are compatible?

It won't work. The numbers have to match all the way to the final letter.

bummer, this guy said his original ECU was 8N096018AT and he replaced it with this MTM chipped 8N096018T and it worked. any thoughts on why?

Sometimes files are compatible with one another.I have flashed cars using different # files for BT stuff when there wasn't a file available for a certain model.You don't know until you try,and it should be immo defeat as well.
