Default wire color for brake pad light

Can anyone tell me the color of the brake pad warning light that leads to the instrument cluster? I want to ground it or cut it.

Sounds like you are in over your head- that is NOT the way to approach things. Instead, why not simply fix the root cause issue?

Default brake pad light

I did change the pads and light still on. Took wheels off and bypassed plug to brake pad. Light still on. Took the instrument cluster out and cleaned
the connections. the light went off. Went to Key Largo for a week-car sat- now the light is on again. I read Paul Waterloo article on cutting the wire to the light. He stated the wire is brown/black stripe on an a8. I want to know if it is the same color on my 2000 a6 2.7t. Just sa reply from PRESS- is it the red wire?

On that wire color issue-I solved the problem. Just grounded the two wires leading to the right wheel brake pad to the body. I guess I had a break in the wire somewhere in the harness.

I have this same problem. I suspect there is a break in my wire too but have been too lazy to check recently. All my pads are new - front and back.
