Rebuild a 2-piston Lucas/Girling front caliper???

Good evening, has anyone seen a good procedure (and kit) to rebuild a TRW/L-G caliper found on 01 S4, A6 and Allroad (and most likely more models/years)? Engine in my Allroad is a 2.7T APB with 321x30 rotors.

I would ask around to see if anyone has a spare caliper to sell you instead. Plenty of people have swapped to bigger brake kits, so there should be a few stock fronts laying around.

Should be simplier than the rear, which were suprisingly easy. Just pump the breaks until the pistons pops out and clean everything. Install a new seal and dust shield and then just screw the piston back into the bore. The fronts should be easier since you don't have to screw them back in - just push.

Or as dom said - find a used one. You could also check with Prince at VAST - they may have some used ones laying around.

Beat me to it! I've rebuilt plenty of VAG calipers. The procedure is very easy, just as described above. I would recommend doing this before the piston rusts or oxidises as it makes cleaning more time consuming. But all in all this is quite easy to do. And we have rebuild kits available here, just scroll to the bottom.
