Accident this past weekend... left front fender damage.. more

On a narrow back country road this weekend, I got into an accident on a blind corner with another gentlemen in a Mazda. I'm not pointing fingers... we were both in the center of the road. Bottom line, we both swerved, I hit the back driver side of his car with my left front fender. His rear wheel came off, my left fender is a bit screwed up and my left front wheel is pushed back into the inner fender. I just put on all new front end parts from ECS about one month ago. Are there any front end components that I should be especially concerned about? I been so upset that I haven't even looked in detail at the dammage. Is it likely front sub-frame is bent? I guess what I'm asking is, what are the weak links in the front end? Given that I basically removed his rear wheel, there was significant force applied to my left front tire which was turned hard right at the time of the accident (trying to get out of his way). I don't want the insurance company to give me a cheap fix...

Oh, I'm pretty sure the frame is bent. Every notice how much the body flexes when you set it on jackstands - unibody's are pretty well connected so everything kinda moves.

Yeah, these cars are fairly stiff.. How do I be sure the stealership fixes it right?

Frame damage is tricky and expensive. I'm not sure a dealership will even have the equiptment to fix it. If your frame really is bent then the car is probably destined for the heap...

I bet your control arms took the brunt of the force though and you might not have any damage to the frame.

Just have to find a reputable shop with a frame rig. More and more uni-bodies are starting to get straightened due to the cost to replace them.

My son slammed into a curb last year and the controll arms, shock, and upright absorbed the hit. The frame seemed fine so I just bolted in used parts and all seems fine. That was a year ago.

unless you hit his car incredibly hard, its doubtfull your frame is toast. I wrecked my mustang earlier this year by hitting a concrete median at 60mph, and the frame wasn't damaged. best of luck to you though, I know how you feel..
