VAG-COM in Ventura County?

I have a 2004 Audi A4 that took a dump on me. The check engine lights flashing, heavy vibrations throughout the car and complete loss of power. Clutch/transmission work fine, the exhaust doesn't flow steady though. Its more of pops of air coming out at a time. The fan also comes on the second the engine turns over as if it's already hot.

Also, has anyone heard of a ghosting problem within the electrical system? I woke up to a dead battery in addition to engine issues where my BRAKE LIGHTS come on in the middle of the night and stay on until the car is started and turned back off again. This happened a couple times before but I caught it in time before the battery completely died. I wasn't so lucky this time.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may have information about these issues or knows anyone who could come check what codes are flashing.

Thanks, a member told me of a similar brake light problem that just needed the brake light switch replaced so hopefully that's all that is. Thanks for the input on the missfires

I'm also looking for a VAG-COM. I'm located in SB and have an allroad with a cel that just popped on. Curious if you find one. Thanks

nothing yet but i was told that auto part stores usually check codes for free so im gonna call advanced auto parts tomorrow to check

most of the time the check engine light is on and flashing on a 1.8 is due to ignition coils if it has the older style coils installed. there is an Audi campaign that replaces the coils with updated parts at no cost to you. If you call DCH audi of oxnard (805)288-3800 with your vin, we can tell you if your car is open for the campaign. Tell them Robert said to call.

since the auto stores around here don't loan the readers out anymore and charge 120 bucks I went on amazon and bought one for 35 dollars. My check engine light is a misfire in cylinder 2. If you want I will be working in Goleta next week and can bring it with me if you still need to check your CEL.
