Timing Belt Woes

It blew on me, luckily I was in Neutral coming to a stop around 1,100 RPMs when it went, so it probably only bent the exhaust valves but...

It only slightly bent two of the exhaust valves. Man, this could have been so much worse. Counting my lucky stars.

How many miles does your car have?

Exactly 104,500 and I had the chain already ordered to change it and was on it's way.

That's a lot of miles on the belt depending on age. I'm doing mine right now with 68K on the car but mine is '01 that was built in mid- '00 so it has 10 years + on the rubber.

Water Pump Question

Pete@ECS---- I see you use the OEM plastic impeller water pump.. Why not a metal impeller replacement? My kit that I installed 3 years back at 70,000 mi had the metal impeller replacement. I'll be ready to do it all again in a year or two. Is there a real reason to stay with the plastic OEM?

Cool. I saw the black color of the impeller and assumed wrong :-)
Graf is what I have too. Glad to hear you guys reccomend it too.
I'll be in the market for my second kit in a year or so.
