Default 285/40x18 9.5x18 ET45

I've just switched from 255/40x19 Michelin's + 8.5x19 ET45 OEM turbine wheels to 285/40x18 Continental DW's + 9.5x18 ET45 clones + 8mm spacers. Ride is lot quieter and softer. Can't hear road cracks that would make me can't hear my radio before. Didn't really tried yet but grip seams considerably better too. here are some pictures. Need more time to shot better ones.

You will love the DW tires - just turned 7,000 miles on mine and they are incredible.

They do get a little noisy on lined/grooved pavement, but it's not bad.

Came installed at 36 and felt like marshmallows.
Very pleased my SA talked me out of DWS since I never drive in snow anyway.
Mine are at 40psi all around, grip and handling greatly improved at higher pressure.

Great pictures, looks awesome !

Looks great and reminds me of the Dukes of Hazzard/classic American muscle car look with the deep rims and higher sidewalls. I'm sure I'd be envious of the improved ride quality if had a chance to experience it.

It's good to see variety of D3 looks and you did go with exactly the wheel/tire choice you had discussed in a previous thread. More shots of the wheels please!

Also, do you have 8mm spacers all around? Just curious because with an OEM setup, the rear wheels look more tucked which is why I used larger spacers on the rear. And unlike the front, no concerns about turning clearance since rear wheels are fixed.

Finally, do you have any plans for the OEM 19" turbine wheels? My D3 ownership situation is still up in the air for the next 4-6 weeks but if I don't sell it by then I will commit to keeping it. If that happens I'll want to pick up a set of the 19" turbines.

Yes! I like it that way. Looks ready for action and she is.

That's easy. Drop by Vancouver, BC and enjoy quality ride. Or just trust me. Seriously, there are few factors: different tires, deeper sidewalls, wider tread, even a bit different offset. My feeling is they played all in the same direction - improved ride quality.

I am trying to agree with myself as much as possible. Photos are coming. Rain too. Will see which one will be faster. Wheels are not really something. Can't get much for that money, but they are very good for experimenting. Could get replaced with something better of the same size.

All four spacers are 8mm. Custom made to adapt central bore and clear front calipers. If I can I would go without them at front wheels. That would be for keeping original offset and looks, but they do not make any problem. No rubbing or something.

Not sure. I might sell them. Shipping could be expensive.

Quite the wide angle shot there. Those are nice looking wheels.

Don't know if you tracked your gas mileage previously but if you did I'm curious if going up an inch in width will have any perceivable effect?

If I end up keeping my car and you still have the turbines and want to sell them in late October, I could very well see a Vancouver road trip in my future. Nice stops in Portland and Seattle along the way. I've been meaning to tour Vancouver for a few years now. The recent hockey riot didn't change that.

You mean replicas of nice looking wheels. They will serve the purpose for the time being. Shot was made by a friend of mine with his new video camera. One of those you can attach anywhere in or out your car and make movies and shots. I plan to make few clips of suspension under braking and acceleration.

I do not have that exact gas millage data. If consumption is not twice higher or lower ...

Vancouver - October. Be sure you bring a rain gear. May need a snorkel too.

They washed my brakes at the time they washed wheels with pressure washer and some serious detergent. I only sprayed that little rusty steel plate with silver paint when I installed wheels.
