Navigation DVD
Message "Check your navigation DVD" popped up more often, of course always when I needed some directions. I tried some of those cleaning discs with no result, so I decided to clean the laser lens old fashion way - rubbing alcohol.
Tools: CD/DVD pullers, T8 and T6 Torx screwdrivers and tweezers.
I pulled out Navigation DVD player and unplugged it. Then I took off half of the casing using T8 screwdriver. Next was circuit board, also T8 and I had to unplug few ribbon cables in order to remove it. To get to the lens I had to unscrew two T6 screws holding one of the lens tracks and flip lens holder around the other track. Cleaned lens with rubbing alcohol and put it all back together. Crucial moment was when it start working, meaning I didn't brake anything. It is still working after a week. No annoying message.
I hope this will encourage those with same problem to do it themselves and save some money. It's not a brain surgery, though it comes close.

Glad to hear it worked for you. I did all of that with no luck a few months ago. It seems the player is fried on mine as it has not worked at all in over four months. Usually it would work about 20% of the time. I've always relied on maps and now that I've caught up with technology, the Android my wife bought me has a few different map and navigation programs. I can even make phone calls on the thing too!

Thanks Mishar. Was having problems getting the Navigation software to update after doing the MMI update. Tried V5 with no luck but the disc was a little scratched. Got a V6 disc and no luck so I pulled the DVD Nav drive apart and cleaned the laser lens, got it back together and V6 update took right away and all is well
