Such a shame that they detuned the engine so severely in the S6. At 420 it's even less than the previous generation. I'd order a 520hp S6 tomorrow.

And FINALLY the firewall is removable to gain access to the back of the engine.
they should buy a Benz and learn how it gets done.

I'm sure the S6 will be easily tuned to 520hp+ with software only.

I also suspect it produces 420 hp the same way the S4 produces 333hp. Totally under rated just for marketing purposes. Just so it slots where they want it on paper. Probably closer to 500hp in reality.

In order to bust more power and keep reliability they need to use some different parts. Pistons, bigger turbos, probably lower compression ratio (automatically higher consumption). That comes with price. Both ways.

The difference in power output between the two versions of the 4.0 TFSI is due mainly to the use of either a single-branch or dual-branch intake system, the turbocharger operating settings and the top version’s additional oil cooler. There are further differences relating to the crankshaft and its main bearings, the compression ratio, valve timing and the injectors.
