Default Trim replacement on the front grill

Is it possible to replace just the chrome trim that goes around the grill? Someone backed up into my car yesterday and messed up the chrome part.

Thanks.

Yes, it can be done, but in the end, it's easier to buy the whole grill. I had an 08 S6 which I installed the RS6 grill on it. The choice was to get the grill or the grill with the trim ring (chrome part). I got the whole grill and when I took of the OEM grill to swap it out, I studied the part to see how hard it would have been to swap out the chrome ring. It's got the typical plastic wedges that you have to snap into place. There's not much room to move the clip and you'd have to be CAREFUL not to break any tabs off or shear the ears. IIRC, there were at least 20 of them.
If the $ difference is great enough and you don't mind the challenge, go for it.
It wasn't for me so it was a simple choice.

If you had an '04-'05 I could help you since I still have the Old Grille, Emblem & Badge, but as you know, it's the 2 Piece Grille. However, as the Reply said, it is easy to seperater the Chrome from the Grille. Good luck and laters,

While on the topic of chrome, does the same logic apply for the rear bumper? Is it possible to replace just the chrome or do we have to buy a new rear bumper?

Yes, mine is quite scratched on the rear bumper as well. Nothing worth replacing though.

Would anyone have the part number for the chrome trim on the front grill?

I wasnt aware that the RS6 grill would fit the S8 - I have a 2007 S8, the RS6 is a direct replacement?

you cant buy the chrome pieace seperate, the front grill is all one pieace bought. the only thing i could suggest is buy a second hand one and replace the chrome, e.g. if u have s8 grill, buy bog standard grill with chrome and swap out, as it would be half of the price. i paid £450 for my s8 grill from audi where as a w12 or bogstandard would be about £250 from germany or here in uk.

pure example is - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grill-Audi...item3a7c9e74b6
