Need help...Found some 18" S5 Rims with
snow tires for pretty right dollars. Yeah the size of the tire is off a bit (5%) but I'm not too concerned about that. My question is the offset he says (I have not seen them yet) is 31. I'm not against using spacers if need be but wanted you know what the experts say. Thanks in advance.

I'm not a fan of spacers - if it ain't built right, don't use it is my motto.
That said, if it's an absolute killer deal it might be something to consider.
Many of us here have priced wheels lately and they aren't cheap at all.

How wide are those rims. What about tires? It's not only odometer/speedometer. Your car would be lower a bit and look funny a bit. Not perfect for winter. Height part.
Offset is OK. Wheels would be 14mm further apart. That's acceptable.

WHOA--this doesn't sound right...different center bore
I thought they changed the center bore on A5/S5 wheels and hubs to a larger size. Don't know if they have been rolling that through to the D4 A8, C7 A6, newest A4 etc.; I would guess they likely are. Heads up though for anyone starting to look at new model Audi wheels for a D3 to be careful with the center bore revision issue.
In any case, I am under the impression A5/S5 wheels are not a direct bolt up to the long running 5 bolt hub the D3 has. To make it work, you would need/want some kind of hubcentric insert, or more likely some kind of spacer/adapter; don't know if one is made like that.

YOU are the reason I love this forum. Would have been a total waste of my time to go over there and try it. Great price on the set but I'm not going to start farting around with center bore differences. Too bad but thanks for the great advice!!

Well now I'm a little confused as some of you say the adaptation rings are not that big a deal. It is a pretty killer deal for the rims and tires. The tires are 225/45 18 so they are about 5% off. I'm assuming the wheels have TPMS sensors and I know they aren't cheap. So what do I do?? lol

Wheels are considerably smaller. For winter they should be narrower and larger diameter. They will work but look funny.
Center bore fix.
