your battery voltage measures in the morning before the car has been started. Mine reads 12.2 V and that seems like a low amount, but I have nothing to compare to.

If you are just measuring the voltage off the battery without it running...than 12.2 would be normal. Heck your battery could be half dead and still read 12.2volts on a multimeter. When using a multimeter there is no load so it takes nothing to display the voltage, but if you had a load on it then it you see if your battery was bad. That's why they have load testers for batteries, because there is no real way to tell if a battery is going bad off just a voltage reading. You should check the voltage while the vehicle is running at least you could see if its charging.

Prior to posting my question I took a multi-meter reading with the engine running...14V,so I know the alternator is charging. And had a load test performed on the battery...battery tested good (only a few months old).

12.2V is still low. It should not go lower than 12.6V. Could it be that your multi-meter is not really accurate?

Yes. That's what led acid batteries theory says. I was lazy to do it this morning but I will measure it tomorrow. My battery is not new but I believe it is still good.

Default took my multi-meter to an electric calibration shop...

it reads 11.96V when connected to a calibration device that generates exactly 12V. So my meter is accurate for the purpose under discussion here.

Checked mine and it is also 12.2V. I hope that theory is wrong.

12.2 defies theory and reasoning, but if another member reports in with 12.2 also I'd say ours are normal.
