Default Retrofit seat warmers 06 A8 4.2tdi

Hi All..

Looking to see what is involved with retrofitting seat warmers into my 06 MY2007 A8.
Does anyone know if the heating pads are included in the seats by default? Has anyone done this upgrade?

Also looking to do a couple of other mods including installing reversing camera to go with analogue tv option and removing the motorola bluetooth phone and installing some other bluetooth option that will allow connection with a normal smartphone. Will research more and create separate threads if required though.

Cheers

I have never seen an A8 without heated front seats - unless your car was supplied for a hot climate I cannot think why it would not have them. Where abouts are you located?

I suspect your best option for BT will be to fit the latest AMI unit as thgis comes with the BT integrated I beleive - certainly my BT works fine with my Nokia although I cannot upload the contacts etc...

Rversing camera needs quite a few parts - I have seen most listed on Ebay UK recently - there is a replacement rear numberplate light assembly with it built-in. What else you need I do not know.

You can get the reversing camera setup from Kufatec but it's pricey and involved as Edd said http://www.kufatec.de/shop/index.php...1_A8---4E.html

Thanks Jakematic and Edd.

I'm in Australia so not a completely hot environment but I have a feeling that is what it might be listed as on the options sticker.
Will double check.
It would be great if the heating pads are installed already.

In regards to BT I'm def checking out the AMI option as well as the mObridge aftermarket device. When I bought the car it was supposed to have BT as well as a reversing camera. Once the car was delivered to me and I found they were not included I decided to buy the car anyway since it was so nice. Plus they threw in the 5year warranty as a sort of apology.

I've had a look at Kufatec and yep, they are pricey. I found a post on one of the forums that indicated that if you had the TV module it made things a lot cheaper and easier but it was an old post and no more specifics were supplied. I'll keep researching as I understand some of the A6/Q7 parts can be used also.

Jakematic. I see you are in NC. My fiances family are over that way. Do you know if there are any good wreckers/breakers for these types of cars in the states? particularly in NC. I'll probably be back over there towards the end of the year once we get our visa's sorted out.

Yes it seems the TV module means you already have video capability.
Otherwise they wanted me to send a module to Germany for re-coding.
Think I'll just look behind me for now ;-)

I don't know of any wreckers in the Carolina's and I'd looked pretty hard.
The company U-Pull-It only has like 3 A4's in the US last I looked.

There is a search engine that lists parts for Audi's and indy junkyards that silverd2 mentioned in the D2 forum - will look for it when I get a chance.

Cheers for the link, I did a search and came up with goods already. Not the cheapest mind. Might stick to ebay for the moment.

Just dropped fiance and daughter at the airport for their trip back to NC until the visa's are sorted, very sad but to find a positive it will give me lots of time to perform mods and retrofits.

These cars make a 1000km/600mile round trip effortless. Now to go and give it a wash. :-)
