Manually retract power hood 1999 cabrio!?!?

Hi All,
Got myself a 1999 1.8 late edition cabriolet, on fixing her up at present. On thing that definately isn't working is the power hood. Is there an easy process to manually retract a power hood on this model? I've looked but can't seem to make sense of other threads!
Got myself a hardtop to go on it so want to take the top down over the winter.
A step by step guide or direction to any pics, ie latches/switches i might need to move would be a great help.

Is your Cabriolet based on the old Audi 80 model or the newer A4 model?

Thanks fot that, after doing some thinking while sat in car realised the handbrake light wasn't coming on and in turn the t bar handle wouldn't rotate the full 180 degrees. Think the switch under handbrake must be faulty also, does anyone know if these are hard to fix/replace!?

i think the switch is off, it needs to sit on the metal piece for grounding

Holla, I'm thinking that you have a European Cabriolet and do not live in the US or Canada, correct? Those models are not covered by our '94-'98 Bentleys manuals. Also, some of the later euro models do not really have a powered top. They have a powered unlocking system and manual top, if I am not mistaken. Further, if you have a 1.8T manual transmission, and a left hand drive car, you will be pummelled for photos of how this looks in the engine compartment, since the 1.8 conversion is the holy grail of Cabby owners.
