B4 95 90 sedan w/AT....Reverse Lights on all the time..

when key is turned to ignition on. The trunk wiring is ok. Getting juice at connector on left-side bottom of trunk. Go to the front and locate (Blue/Red wire) for reverse lights at green connector behind knee panel on driver side. There is juice there at connector?! Can't seem to locate the Park/Neutral Relay that may be causing this problem. Where the hell is it? :frustrated: Some say on Aux. Panel & others say on Primary panel...Pulled fuse to see if it disables the Rev lights.

Some have said I have a bad Multi-Function switch on trans? :frustrated: Any help would be appreciated.

The relay should be behind the knee bolster

#1 is the one that controls the back up lights.
I have a feeling that that may not be your problem but it's worth a shot.

It was the Relay. Friend who used to work on Audis of this vintage gave me a heads up on why this relay blows out. It seems Audi in their infinite wisdom started using parts from the A4's in the late build models of the 90's and this particular relay has a tendency to blow out because Audi made it carry more of a load than the older build 90's. and it was not made to do it since it was intended to be used on the A4's.
