Radio not working, but has power?

Radio not working, but has power?
My radio decided not to turn on today when I started the car. The illumination for the radio works, so there is power to it. Just nothing on the display, no safe mode, no sound...just nothing.
Can anybody point me in the right direction??

It usually a good idea to give more details, there were two different types of Radios used in US TTs thru the years .

Oddly the radio worked this morning. Perhaps it has to do something with the 100+ heat we've been having in Virginia. Or it's a sign I need to think about a new system. How much do you want for the head unit?
