2.8 v6 coupe quattro
I've just bought a 89 2.8 v6 quattro which some idiot has converted from a 2.3 20v engine and now I'm having some trouble with it and need some help. The car doesn't start anymore unless the lights are on, it won't idol and when your driving if u put full beam on then u lose power. Does anyone have any suggestions?

2 suggestions:
1) As we have no idea what modifications were made to your vehicle to put it in its current configuration, I doubt you'll find much solid, qualified help here. You DEFINITELY need to take this one to an honest corner garage.
2) Use this as a learning experience: It's always better to be the idiot who performs rat mods... than it is to be the idiot who buys a car with rat mods.

sounds to me like the guy put key on power to the engine controls through the headlight switch, lol. That or you have a serious short to plus. Meaning 2 power wires have melted/touched together so one circuit is feeding the other.
