Making sense of P1522 Code
Is there a way to take out the sensors by just removing the chain covers or does the whole front end of the car have to come off?
Thank you.

Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
Possible Causes
Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Camshaft Position Sensor (G163)
Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Camshaft Adjuster Unit (N208)
Mechanical failure of Camshaft Adjuster Unit (N208)
Failing Engine Control Module (ECM)
Possible Solutions
Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Camshaft Position Sensor (G163)
Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Camshaft Adjuster Unit (N208)
Check chain guides of Camshaft Adjuster Unit (N208) for wear
Are the bank 1 and bank 2 sensors the same? If so, would it make sens to try to swap them to see if the error code switched sides?
If the cam shaft had slipped, wouldn't it be pretty obvious that the car was lacking power or missing or something?
Thanks.

And swapping them out could be a way of telling if the sensor is bad if fault goes to the other side. Depends on how much time and other parts/gaskets is involved in swapping them.
I haven't heard of people swapping cam sensors to determine if the fault is in the sensor...try it and post your results...you could be the first!!
