DIY 94 cabriolet auto trans rebuild
94 audi cabriolet: is this possible by a reasonably resourceful do it your selfer? Any tips hints on first getting it out. Do you take out the starter to get to the flex plate/torque converter bolts. Also any tips or sites that go through the rebuild process. I've done just about every form of rebuilding other than an auto trans. I'm not too old to learn!
thanks, for any help, tips and advice, hushpuppy

here is a view of the Trans with the engine removed...
the starter goes in the little indention about 8 o'clock on the flex plate. with the starter out you can rotate the crankshaft and remove each nut.
From what I understand, a manual swap is possible without changing the ECU but you have to do some things to trick it into starting without being in park.
The FWD axles from a manual are different than FWD from an auto so I need to source them.
