Audi 90 Intermittent Heater

Audi 90 Intermittent Heater
So I recently purchased a 1994 90 series CS, I love this car its great and its a killer in the snow except I've recently encountered an odd problem. The fan for my heater has started to only kick on when it wants to. I always get low heat but the fan will seem to come on when it wants to, sometimes first thing in the morning sometimes after engine warms up sometimes never.
Im hoping for some ideas, Im thinking its probably the blower motor resistor, or even a dying blower motor, i'm reluctant to buy any parts until i get some feedback as im concerned that it may be an electrical glitch or an computer problem.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be great,

Its been a long time coming, I completed the repair over one month ago but it was just the blower motor, for anyone who needs to know this is a very simple repair, all you need is a phillips head screw driver and a 10mm socket, simply remove your glove box with the socket, there are four bolts one on each corner and the rest is pretty simple just use the driver to remove and replace the blower motor
