screw it I'm selling it ! 94 cab $600
Well instead of parting it out I've decided to
sell the whole car for $600 it's a 94 cab with a transmission problem, I put all new friction disks
in it because the old ones were totally wore out and put it all back together and the only gear that works is reverse and I give up thats the 2nd time I've I've pulled it out and I'm not doing it again! I'm very curious if you had a manual other than the Bentleys to assist in the transmission rebuild. Also, where did you get the parts? Surely the dealer is prohibitively expensive in a job of that magnitude. Wish you would have documented the experience with photos, etc, or a list of what NOT to do. I think all of us Cab owners know that the transmission will someday be an issue.

I changed the auto trans in my pearl cab 3-4 times in as many years.
I was ready to dump it, but decided to convert it to a manual and now I love it.
If you were in the denver area I'd snap it up in a minute

I felt the same way about scrapping a cab with the same trans issues. nothing but reverse, but found a parts car that I could test drive, so I'm going to cross my fingers and go with the used tranny. I thought about the friction disks and plates as well, but got the whole parts car for the price of the rebuild parts. plus it would be a first time tranny rebuild for me, not a very high percentage outcome! thanks for sharing your pain, hushpuppy

Tranny
I bought my cab with a shot tranny for a grand and bought a used tranny from either shokan or force 5 ,can't remember right now.
The tranny supposedly had 60K on it . My car had 115K on it when I bought it ,then installed the used tranny,now I have 150K on the car with no issues.I changed tranny fluid and filter this past summer.
I also have a 93 90s 5 speed sitting here waiting for the cab's auto to sh*t the bed.Then the swap will happen.
