What mod are we talking about? ETKA does not show any wires to the diff. The locking runs on vacuum and there are two lines.

there is a wire that we can cut that stops the diff from automatically disabling the lock after 17mph

if you cut it.....add a switch and re connect.

this way you can choose when the diff stats on over 25km/h

you may not want it in 24/7 on pavement...you will blow the diff

Default mod?

I didn't know the B4 used a vacuum line any more like the older models for locking the diff? I guess it does if you have the manual..

That would be one deadly Mod, it will be one nice German Tank in the Mountains Russian!!

Lift up your backseat and look for the module with two vac lines going to it. The vac lines are black and one has a blue stripe and one has a yellow stripe. Find the only blue and white wire and snip/switch it and you are done.

On this note, does anyone know if the rear locking differential can be transplanted into the newer B5 A4?

I know a locking mechanism will need to be devised but with the winter snow and ice here and having both cars, was wondering if I could swap things around.
